COVED-19 GUIDANCE

FOR THE RESUMPTION OF LAWN BOWLS

In accordance with the governments statement, “Pub’s Club’s, Restaurants and Licensed premises” can open on July 4th 2020 whilst observing Covid-19 safe guidelines. Your Management Committee have agreed to allow the club house & bar to open, but the kitchen & changing rooms will remain closed. To comply with the Back2Bowls guidelines new measures have been put in place to ensure members and visitors are kept as safe as possible. These new measures are outlined below and your Management Committee request all members and visitors follow the instructions. It is incumbent on all members to follow the guidelines, whilst respecting other peoples space and to act in a manner which will not compromise other members well being and safety.

GATHERINGS, PUBLIC SPACES and ACTIVITIES - YOU SHOULD NOT

USING THE GREEN  > USING THE GREEN  >
1. Shanklin BC green will re-open at July 4th 2020 whilst observing Covid -19 safe guidelines. 2. Alternate rinks will be in operation. 1, 3, and 5 or 2, 4, and 6. Rinks must be booked in advance. Maximum 6 players during each session. Ensure you observe 2 metre social distancing and only use your own personal bowling equipment. Only 2 mats and 2 jacks per rink. Any other equipment is deemed to be unnecessary and will not be available. Whilst playing, only one person should set the mat and jack. Whilst in attendance each player must observe the 2 metre distancing rule. 3. Six mats and six jacks will be located under the veranda. Before and after play please ensure you sanitise the mats and jacks with the materials supplied by the club. Sanitising materials will be located under the veranda. 4. Rink bookings must be made 24hrs in advance. A further booking will not be allowed until 48hrs has expired from your last booking. Bookings should be made via text or WhatsApp to Phil brooks on 07851536417 or by e-mail to: philthebowlbrooks@gmail.com Phone bookings cannot be accepted. Booking availability can be viewed by entering the club web site and clicking on, Club Calendar. Sessions will be 1hr and 15 minutes long commencing at 10.15am, with a 30 minute break between sessions. 10.15am – 11.30am. 12.00 – 1.15pm. 1.45pm – 3.00pm. 4.00pm – 5.15pm. 6.00pm – 7.30pm. 5. On completion of your booking a text or e-mail confirming time and rink will be sent and will also be displayed on the club’s web site calendar. Washing your hands before and after your roll up is absolutely crucial as is the cleansing of mats and jacks. Alcohol based hand sanitiser, sanitiser wipes and spray will be available. Bin liners will be provided for disposing of the sanitised wipes. For those of you who have masks, we suggest you wear them. The committee request all members playing contribute a voluntary payment toward the cost of sanitising materials. The monies will be collected when we get back to some sort of normality. 6. It is the responsibility of all those in attendance to ensure all materials and equipment is sanitised and returned to it’s rightful place, and the club is locked and secure before leaving the premises. You must also ensure you take any personal rubbish away with you. This notification and instructions has been authorised by your Management Committee. Keep well and safe bowling. Limit the number of people or households you come in contact with. Sit/stand side by side or behind other people, rather than facing them. Meet people outdoors, rather than indoors. Keep interactions brief. Wear a face covering on public transport, in shops or indoor environments.

If it is not possible to keep a 2m distance, reduce the risk to yourself and others at 1m + by taking

suitable precautions.

Each member must sign in. Rink booking system will continue. When booking rinks please advise names of all those members who will be playing. This will act as an additional record in line with track and trace requirements. The designated disabled toilet will be for the sole use of women and the disabled. The male toilets will be accessed through the men’s changing rooms. The centre urinal will be closed off and only 2 persons at a time are to use the facility.

A number of tables and chairs will be placed in such a manner as to observe social distancing and the guidelines as set out in item 1 above. Only a maximum of 20 people at any given time are allowed inside the club. Only one section of the bar will be open. This will have a protective perspex screen. Bar must only be opened by nominated members. Bar opening details and names of nominated members will be displayed on the entrance door to the bar. Beers and ciders will be served in disposable receptacles. A table will be located by the bar door entrance on which empty cans, empty bottles and empty glasses should be placed. Disposable receptacles should be placed in the waste bins provided. Members should make the most of the fine weather and take their drinks outside.
